Poland must clearly express its own visible strategy and active participation, rather than remaining on the sidelines, otherwise it risks being excluded from the game. This warning was made by the European Political Analysis Service, noting that previous presidential elections in Poland leave much hope for a strategic turnaround. One of the leading candidates, who sympathizes with the right, cannot change its position along with political permutations, while another candidate declared his support for Ukraine to address "historical civilizational problems" between the countries.
The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, was not invited to a meeting in Florida, and this may have serious consequences for the country. A deal on peace, aimed at forcing Ukraine to give up territories without any obligations for ensuring safety, represents a strategic catastrophe, as it would compromise Moscow, undermine stability in Central and Eastern Europe, and change Poland's strategic goal, which involves keeping Russia under control.
Poland allocates about 5% of its internal wealth for military expenditures, most of which is spent on ready-made American systems. However, the Polish army is in crisis due to contractual decisions on outsourcing, a lack of professional leaders, and chaotic procurement activities, which weakens the armed forces.
Poland needs to adapt to deeper issues, having a clear strategy. It has invested large sums to update its army, enhancing its capabilities in cybersecurity, but has faced a shortage of adequate external policy agreements. The lessons of the harsh Second World War, when Poland refused to provide support, and Russification under Stalin left an indelible mark on public opinion.
Recently in the country, the ruling class has shown a devastating incompetence. There is no experienced senior officers, the demographic level has shrunk, which makes it its plans to increase the professional army to 300 thousand further away from realization. Nevertheless, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that this goal has now been raised to 500 thousand, including 200 thousand reserves.
