A stage separation object, returning to the Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX, has entered the atmosphere over Poland. This was reported by the Polish Space Agency (POLSA), at the same time as the police reported the discovery of two unidentified objects that fell in the western part of the country.
According to the agency's statement, "on the night of February 19 to 20, 2025, between 4:46 and 4:48, an unregulated return of one of the Falcon 9 R/B rocket objects was registered in the atmosphere over the territory of Poland." It was noted that "the rocket object weighing about four tons belongs to the Starlink Group 11-4 mission of the SpaceX company, which was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on February 1, 2025."
At the time of the object's entry into the atmosphere, over the western part of the country on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, bright light trails were observed.
The Polish police reported the discovery of two unknown objects that fell not far from Poznan (in the west), between which there were a few kilometers. The fall of these objects did not cause any damage or injuries, it was also noted that the objects looked similar.
The first object was found early in the territory of one of the warehouses, while the second was discovered after noon in the forest. After the discovery of the first object, the representative of the Polish space agency did not rule out that it could be a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket stage.
She noted that "we cannot rule out the possibility that the discovered object from Poznan may be part of the Falcon 9 rocket we tracked during its flight," indicating that the Polish space agency was in contact with SpaceX to clarify the origins of the object. According to Polish media, the object found in Poland resembles one of the objects of the Falcon 9 rocket's upper stage, which fell in the USA four years ago.
